Maybe she tripped on the carpet pattern

We went away.

We had a good time.

We came home.

And found that one of our fat cats had broken her leg.

Since neither of our cats really moves, we are quite perplexed.

Ever spent a holiday weekend trying to find a veterinary hospital that's open? Ever had a veterinary assistant who was intent on giving your cat a cast to match her coat, even though you insisted that a plain white one was fine because there were a million other things you'd rather be doing on the fourth of July than watch a young guy who was obviously smoking something pick yellow and black tape for your fat cat's leg?

And finally, anyone else see a resemblance?

Nice. Ever figure out how kitty broke the leg? I can see how it might be the carpet. Hope you had a nice 4th!

OMG that is NOT RIGHT!! But I do love the pudgy kitty! Did the vet yell at you guys for leaving him unattended on the dangerous carpet pattern or for teaching kitty that food is love?!

I used to get yelled at all the time for that - and I was always like, but he really wanted a cheeseburger. He was all drooley and REALLY cute.

My first dog used to make a point of getting sick on holiday weekends. I think she was following one of Murphy's Laws -- the one that requires that your A/C break down the Friday afternoon before memorial Day, and your furnace give out on Christmas Eve.

Hope your kitty's up ad running soon. Hope she wasn't in too much pain.

I do! I see it! I see it every time my cat is cleaning herself and holds her hind let straight up in the air. . . looks just like a chicken drumstick!

it's funny, our cat Aura has the same "spot" on her forehead.

Poor Kitty, but you have to admit it's kind of funny.

Oh, poor kitty. Apparently there are a lot of calisthenics taking place when no one is home.

I hope the kitty feels better soon!

That is the law of vacations. I always set aside vet funds for after vacation. Holidays are bad too. Hope kitty heals quick! Too cute! Love fat cats.

I would love to know how she broke her leg! Makes you wonder what they do when nobody's home. And of course it had to happen on the holiday weekend. Hope she heals quickly! :o)

Lol - that cast is funny. I mean, poor kitty, but the tricked out cast must have made him feel a little better?

Wow that is some funky carpet, I'd get dizzy & fall over too if I looked at it too long! The cat might have been playing that game where you have to leap from one flower to another, if you miss you break your mother's back (or your own leg)

That's so sad! Poor kitty!! Poor you guys, too!

Would the suggestion of calling the cat Butterball be too obvious?

I was thinking 'poor kitty' because I would totally break my leg on that carpet pattern, too.

Can we sign the cast?

Poor kitty, but I am loving the bumblebee cast!
Oh - and spending $ on a pet cat ranks right up there on car repairs. I've got to *really* love my cat before I actually dish out some green on it.

he must have been smoking something, because yellow and black doesn't really match your cat :-)

Aw...so sad and so funny at the same time.

oh man, this is just what I needed today.

I mean, I feel really sorry for your cat - but it's funny still.

Tooooo funny! omg! Maybe you could glue some rhinestones to kitty's cast for some added bling and to make it less ostentacious? LOL

We wouldn't want the carpet competing with the cast.

oh no. poor kitty.

ow! Too much color!! Paint the cast white please!!

An assistant insisting to match the cast to cat is hilarious. I probably would have killed him though.

OMG your poor kitty! And poor you trying to find a vet on a holiday weekend...the cast is hilarious...as is the comparison. ;)

I'm baaaaaack! Miss me? ;)

Poor kitty! And what a lame ass for trying to match her cast to her fur... although it looks pretty cool!

I think the yellow and black tape was worth the wait, I mean, you can hardly see the cast at all. Between the carpet pattern and cat pattern, it blends right in.

Keely said...

Uh, maybe he thought he was being festive? Y'know, like a red/white/blue cast but...not?

I got nothin'. Maybe her leg collapsed under the sheer weight of the rest of her.

Wow - that cast is the bomb. Who'd a thunk it?

Awwwww, poor kitty. I am sorry she broke her leg. Goat hugs from me.

Snort! If one of my cats broke their leg, I'd know one of the other cats did it. They're evil and homicidal.
